Classroom Happenings:
Science - We will finish our chapter on forces and motion early this week. Then we will move onto simple machines.

Social Studies - The students are working on a coat of arms for the western region. They are researching the climate, resources, landforms, and tourist attractions of the West. These will be put in our region scrapbook.

Accelerated Math - We will work through our last chapter this week. The chapter covers ratio and percent. The children will not have any homework unless they do not finish their in-class work.

Spelling - We are now finished with spelling.

English - The children will be writing their own picture book this week. We are following the format of a book called Simon Say... The children need to choose a subject to write their book about. Examples include: animals, plants, states, countries, sports teams, tourist attractions, famous people, games, books, etc. We will work on these books all week.

Reading - We will continue our Chris Van Allsburg study this week. One of the activities is to watch the movie of "Jumanji". This movie is rated PG. A permission slip was sent home on Friday. Please sign and return as soon as possible.
